About Us

Founded in 1981 we are a non-profit club dedicated to developing the art and sport of fencing – at the local, regional, national and international levels. Since 1981 we have grown from a small location, to now one of the 10 largest clubs in North America. We are a three weapons club; with Epee, Saber and Foil. In addition we provide Cardio and Yoga classes for our students, members and parents.

Our goal is to provide the best (plush), healthiest and safest fencing experience to our fencers. TFC’s 15,500 square feet of space provides 16 Olympic size strips (17 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, with a full run-off at the ends) of which 11 are grounded. The fencing surface is a 3 layered basket weave wooden floor, this design is the safest to prevent knee and bone damage that can occur over several years of activity (vastly superior to other surfaces like concrete, solid wood, and sports tile) since fencing requires jumping.

The club has a staff that allows our students to try all three weapons and pick the one that suits them. The club provides changing rooms, storage space for members, free WIFI, and has 60 onsite parking spots with additional overflow parking during events.

This mission continues today and propels our growth:

  • Beginning and elite in-club programs
  • Youth outreach programs
  • Integrated school fencing programs
  • Team Builders and Workshops

Our Philosophy

Our goal is to grow well rounded students. Mastery in fencing is as much about emotional prowess and resilience as it is about technique and physical skill. We teach fun, combat, and winning; you learn life & team skills, emotional mastery and fencing.

In the hands of a good teacher, sports teach you some of the most important skills in life. These include basic skills like: listening, channeling frustration, becoming coach-able, un-learning and re-learning skills,  growing in public, helping teammates grow, success focused, and working hard is fun and worth it.

Fencing gets you fit, improves coordination, builds muscles and stamina, harnesses the inner competitive spirit, grows team skill, and develops the overall personality. It develops fast thinking, skills to overcome adversity, anticipation, and control over the mind and body.

We are founded and dedicated to growing the person and growing the fencer. We have grown since our founding in several dimensions, to a top 10 largest fencing club in North America. Come build your success with TFC where we are dedicated to the art and sport of fencing and the fencer it produces.

Our students have consistently earned great placements at the top universities in US. In the last 4 years our students have had offers (many with full scholarships) from: Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, USC, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, University of Michigan, Air Force Academy, Georgia Tech, UC Davis, UC Irvine. In the last 10+ years the list expands to Princeton, Brown, UPenn, Yale, Dartmouth, Penn State, Cal Tech, NYU, Haverford, RIT, and others.
